Dear Giuseppe,
What's the secret to a great party? It's simple: Great guests, great volunteers, great food, great entertainment, great energy!
Thank you for bringing your special energy to Just Like My Child's First Birthday Party! So much has happened as a result of our event that we are just now beginning to catch our breath.
First of all, the event was an absolutely amazing success. We raised nearly $60,000 for our two major projects:
1) to build a school in Kikoiiro, Uganda that will ultimately save the lives of thousands of children;
2) to install a surgical suite and operating room at the Bishop Asili Hospital in Luwero, Uganda. The O.R. will save the lives of hundreds of mothers and babies who otherwise would perish in childbirth.
Of course, we still have a long way to reach our goals of a combined $300,000 for both of these projects, so please support us by passing the word on!
Thanks to each of you who contributed in so many different ways - your home, time, creativity, inspiration, energy, food, heart and soul to enabling the evening to be so enjoyable.
Extra special thanks to Giuseppe Ciuffa of Giuseppe Fine Catering in La Jolla for his generous contribution of exquisite food and creativity. He is one of the finest professionals I've ever worked with. He envisioned the evening as a success and made sure it happened!
Stay tuned to future newsletters to find out all of the exciting things we are planning with the funding. We are so happy to have you as our partner in creating a better world for these amazing mothers and children (who are just like our children)!
